The objective of this project is to evaluate the ability of two crop growth models, CERES-Maize and CROPGRO-Soybean, to simulate site-specific crop development and yield.

Soil samples, neutron probe moisture measurements, in-season biomass and harvest data have been collected from several sites within experimental fields.

Data collected during the 1997 and 1998 cropping seasons are being used to calibrate and evaluate the crop models as part of a project to develop a decision aid tool integrating crop models and GIS software.
