Department of Agronomy

Glenn Davis is an extension assistant professor. The objective of his research is to establish a statewide education and demonstration program to encourage Missouri producers to adopt precision agriculture practices that improve water resources.

Bill Johnson is an extension assistant professor and the state extension weed scientist. Research and extension interests include integration of herbicide tolerant crops into Missouri crop production, impact and implementation of conservation tillage on weed management, and identification and management of herbicide-resistant weeds.

Newell Kitchen is an adjunct assistant professor and a soil scientist with the USDA-ARS Cropping Systems and Water Quality Research Unit. Research interests include development of crop production systems that improve water quality, including precision agriculture strategies for nutrient-use efficiency.

John Lory is an extension assistant professor. The objective of his research is to promote the efficient use nutrients from manure and other sources to protect the water and natural resources of the state.

Peter Scharf is an assistant professor and has an extension appointment in nutrient management. His research focuses on development and promotion of methods that improve the efficiency of fertilizer and organic nutrient uptake.

Bill Wiebold is an assistant professor and has an extension-research appointment related to soybean and corn management. Research thrusts include integrated crop management, soybean cyst nematode, and residue management.

Department of Agricultural Economics
Ray Massey is an assistant professor with the Department of Agricultural Economics. Interests include integrated crop production, financial and risk management, and precision agriculture.
Food Science and Engineering Unit
Ken Sudduth is an agricultural engineer with the USDA-ARS and adjunct assistant professor. His expertise is in sensors, controls, and systems for crop production and precision agriculture.
Department of Soil Science
